Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 June 2026
Katha is built to protect the people who use it. The app works entirely offline and does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. This policy explains exactly how your information is handled — in plain language.
Information we collect
None. Katha does not collect, request, or transmit any personal information. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics or advertising software of any kind in the app.
Information stored on your device
Content you create in Katha — such as saved phrases, your chosen settings, and the on-device word-prediction history that helps speed up typing — is stored only on your device. We never have access to it, and it is never sent anywhere.
Network and tracking
Katha makes no network requests. It contains no analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs, or cookies, and it does not use an advertising identifier.
Permissions the app uses
The app requests only the following device capabilities, none of which collect personal data:
- Vibration — for optional haptic feedback when you press a button.
- Audio output settings — to play a tap sound and to speak text aloud.
Katha does not use your microphone, camera, location, contacts, calendar, or your personal photos and files. It does not record audio.
Purchases
Katha is a one-time purchase. Payments are processed by the app store (Google Play or, in future, the Apple App Store) under their own privacy terms. The app itself does not receive or store any payment information.
Children's privacy
Katha is suitable for users of all ages, including children. Because the app collects no data whatsoever, it collects no data from children.
Deleting your data
Because everything is stored locally, you are always in control. You can remove all of your data at any time using the in-app reset option (Settings → Reset), or simply by uninstalling the app. There is no server-side data to delete.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
Contact
For any questions about this policy or the app, contact the developer, Dr Arindam Dey, via the contact form on the Katha site.
